The Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the many discussions that have taken place around Apple in the past seven days (and you can read my weekly Android news roundup here on Forbes).
iPhone 16 Pro Prepares for Darkness
Thanks to Sony’s new sensor technology, Apple’s iPhone 16 can significantly improve low-light performance. While Sony sensors will undoubtedly be found in Android mobile phones, Apple will turn to its own software, hoping it will make a difference when mobile phones launch:
“[Ming-Chi Kuo’s] The report gives no clue as to which Sony stacked sensor technology will be used in the iPhone 16 Pro cameras, but we can make a reasonable guess. Sony’s latest stacked sensor technology separates photo diodes and pixel transistors, which are normally combined in a single layer. This allows the photo diodes themselves – the bit that actually catches the light – to be significantly larger for the same overall pixel size.

Supersize your iPhone
Photographers and filmmakers looking for plenty of onboard storage will be looking for the top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro models at the September launch. 2TB of storage seems possible:
“According to the Korean Naver blog, a supplier source has confirmed that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available with twice the storage capacity of the iPhone 14 Pro models. In the second scenario, Apple will be 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. Have four available storage tiers, such as storage tiers, etc. Such storage increases could also coincide with rumors that Apple will raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro models this year.”

…And the Action Button Is Leaking
Replacing the mute button on the next iPhone model with a user-defined action button has been a constant rumor for a while. Now it looks like the action button will stand out and we have leaked third-party cases to thank:
“As for the leaked cases, send request To show off three iPhone 15 Pro Apple MagSafe case clones in dark green, black and dark blue. Instead of having a cutout above the volume buttons, these cases contain smaller buttons, which you’d expect to see if the mute switch has been replaced as supposed. The source of the photos is also reliable when it comes to Apple accessory leaks.

Apple Silicon M3 Max Being Tested
Apple has started testing the next professional versions of the MacBook Pro in-house. Third-party dev diaries have spotted the next-gen M3 Max Apple Silicon chipset, and it looks like it’s much more than consumers will ever need:
“The central processing unit includes 12 high-performance cores that handle demanding tasks such as video editing, and four efficiency cores for less intensive applications such as web browsing. Compared to the top-end version of the current processor M2 series for Notebooks, the new chip has four more. “It has a high-performance CPU core and at least two additional graphics cores. The tested MacBook Pro also includes 48 gigabytes of memory.”

An AirPods 3 Bargain
The welcome addition to Apple’s Refurbished store is AirPods 3. When these are returned, Apple’s testing allows the company to offer them the same warranty and warranty options as first-sale products.
“The refurbished AirPods 3 include a MagSafe Charging Case and are priced at $149, $30 off the regular $179 price. Apple also has an out-of-stock listing for the $209 refurbished AirPods Pro 2, which means they are also discounted. shows that it can be taken in the near future.”

As Regular as Auto Launch
Apple’s September event is generally relatively predictable; You missed the Berlin IFA event by scheduling for next Tuesday. This marks September 12, a date many industry watchers feel locked into.
“The next Apple special event is expected to take place in September, and now it looks like the exact date has been set. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg tweeted that he thinks the release date will be Tuesday, September 12.”

And finally…
A new watch band may be coming when the Apple Watch is updated. Following an existing design, could we see a magnetic clasp slightly more affordable than the current leather-based offering?
“The new band design can work similarly to the Modern Buckle strap that was released with the original Apple Watch. Apple’s Modern Buckle is a leather strap with stainless steel grips and a thick magnetic stainless steel clasp.”
