Blackpink Star Jennie’s Style Evolvement Over the Years: Structured Prom Dresses, Preppy Blazers, and Tons of Chanel

Blackpink’s Jennie continues to wow audiences around the world, not only with her standout vocals but also with her stage-stealing fashion looks, as the singer is known for generating a positive fan return on social media platforms when she releases her outfits.

Since the girl group debuted in 2018, the South Korean artist and fellow Blackpink members have showcased their standout fashion senses by donning an array of suits from high-profile designers and posing front rows at luxury fashion shows.

Additionally, like many other K-pop stars, Jennie has had a number of high fashion embassies, including a longtime one with Chanel. The star has been the French fashion house’s global brand ambassador since 2019 and wears the brand so often that Blinks (Blackpink’s fan base) have given her the nickname “Human Chanel”.

2018

In 2018, at Chanel’s ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week, Jennie channeled the brand’s signature texture in a set of tweed high-waisted pants. The star paired her edgy blue suit with a matching print with the brand’s classic double flap bag, and these delicate details included a light blue rimming.

That same year, at the launch of her “Les Eaux De Chanel” photo interview in Deauville, France, Jennie looked back at Chanel. This time, she transformed the brand’s wool jacquard top with a V-stripe print and raw edges into a chic themed mini dress.

2019

At the Chanel fall 2019 fashion show, Jennie dressed up in white in a chic mini dress with all-over black braided trim. To contrast the elegant look, Jennie added a distinctive red lip as well as a belt with a “CC” logo.

2022

At Chanel’s runway show during Paris Fashion Week in 2022, Jennie dressed all in black in a schoolgirl-inspired suit consisting of a corduroy jogger shorts and a furry bustier crop top. The star accessorized with white frilly ankle socks and bold gold jewelry.

2023

For her debut appearance at the Met Gala in 2023, Jennie chose a minimalist Chanel mini dress to match the fashion event’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme. Jennie’s outfit details included a scalloped neckline and a pleated skirt.

Jennie also graced the “The Idol” red carpet at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in May, where she took inspiration from the ballerina in a Chanel designer dress with black tulle and structured lace bodice. “The Idol,” a drama that aired on Max and aired in June, was Jennie’s first acting experience.
