Riot Games has announced the Teamfight Tactics global LAN event, the Vegas Open, complete with a prize pool of $300,000 to be won over three days. From the moment it starts to the breakdown of the format, here’s everything you need to know.
Teamfight Tactics announced its first global LAN event earlier this year. Now Riot has revealed more about the high-stakes tournament, including the prize pool, location, dates, and pricing.
The TFT Vegas Open will break ground as the first global LAN for Teamfight Tactics. The three-day event will be a celebration of all things TFT and will also feature a competitive tournament where the winner takes home $100,000, a trophy and a title.

TFT Vegas Opening Date and Location
The TFT Vegas Open will take place on December 8 and last until December 10. The event will be held at the MGM Grand with players from all over the world competing for prizes.
TFT Vegas Open Events
The TFT Vegas Open will have a total of three events, including the main tournament, the second chance tournament, and various other side events.
Main Tournament
The main tournament will see 512 competitors running over the three days of the event fighting for glory and prizes.

Second Chance Tournament
The second chance tournament will be available to those eliminated from the main event. This event is first come, first served for 128 players. This event does not have a prize pool but will reward the winner with a trophy.
Side Events
There will be various side events throughout the TFT Vegas Open, these events are for entertainment purposes only and are also open to spectators. All participants can win prizes at these events.

TFT Vegas Open Main Event Format

Players will be seeded based on their average rank. set 9 And set 9.5. After the first round, players will be seeded via snake draft based on the points they have earned during the tournament.
Scoring System
Players will be awarded points based on where they played each game, the order of points awarded is as follows:
- 1st place: 8 points
- 2nd place: 7 points
- 3rd place: 6 points
- 4th place: 5 points
- 5th place: 4 points
- 6th place: 3 points
- 7th place: 2 points
- 8th place: 1 point
Calendar
The event will run for three days, here is an overview of each day.
Day 1 – 8 December
Round 1: 512 contestants will split into lobbies and play 3 games, every top 4 players from each lobby will advance to round 2.

Round 2: 256 contestants will split into lobbies and play 3 games, every top 4 players from each lobby will advance to round 3.
Day 2 – December 9
Round 3: 128 contestants will split into lobbies and play 4 games, every top 2 players from each lobby will advance to round 4.

Round 4: 32 contestants will split into lobbies and play 4 games, every top 2 players from each lobby will advance to round 5.
Day 3 – December 10
Finals: Top 8 players will play in matte format. The first player to earn 20 points and then take 1st place will be the TFT Vegas Open Champion.

TFT Vegas Opening Award
a prize pool $300,000 USD will be shared among the most successful of the main event. The last player standing will win $100,000 USD and a special trophy.
All 128 players remaining on Day 2 will receive a share of the prize pool detailed below:
In addition, all players participating in the main event will receive exclusive in-game emotes with a one-of-a-kind unique emote for the top ranked player.
The winner of the second chance tournament will also win a trophy.

TFT Las Vegas Open Registration and Pricing
Riot will first launch pre-sales for Challenger, GM, and Master players so they can purchase competitor passes before anyone else.
Competitor passes $399 USD, but discounts will be available for Master or higher rank players, these discounts can be found here:
- Masters and Grandmasters: $299
- Challengers: $199
The deadline for these sorted snapshots will be: August 30 at 00:01 PT and anyone interested will need a valid Riot Games account to register and purchase passes.
Spectator passes are also available for $150 and include admission to all three days and admission to Side Events. These passes will also provide access to other onsite events such as meet and greet, panels, and more.

Tickets will go on sale at: 07:00 PT or 10:00 EST every day
- September 5 – Challenger Pre-Sale
- September 6: Grandmaster + Master Pre-Sale
- September 7: Attendance Card Sale
